U.S. Department of State Launches Paid Internship Program for 2027, Offering Opportunities in Diplomacy

The program offers full-time, paid internships at $19.96 per hour, requiring participants to work 40 hours per week for 10 consecutive weeks. Interns will be placed in various domestic offices and overseas posts, engaging in assignments related to international affairs, diplomacy, economic research, and more. The application period runs from August 7, 2026, to September 1, 2026, with a mandatory orientation in Washington, D.C. The program is open to U.S. citizens who meet specific eligibility criteria, including a minimum age of 18 and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
