U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Awards Over $1.2 Million to North Dakota for Youth Services
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has allocated $1,234,999 to North Dakota to bolster suicide prevention, housing, and transitional services for young people. This funding is strategically distributed among several key initiatives. Specifically, $734,999 is designated for the Turtle Mountain Tribe to support its Center for Mental Health Services Projects of Regional and National Significance. Additionally, Mountain Plains Youth Services Inc. will receive two separate allocations of $250,000 each. One of these allocations is for the Maternity Group Home Program, which provides crucial support for young mothers and their children. The other $250,000 is earmarked for the Transitional Living Program, designed to assist young individuals in their transition to independent living. This financial injection aims to address critical needs within North Dakota's youth population, focusing on mental health, stable housing, and successful transitions into adulthood.
