North Carolina Offers Flood Insurance Webinars Amid High Demand
The North Carolina Department of Insurance (NCDOI) has announced a series of free webinars focused on flood insurance education. These sessions, which provide continuing education credits, are designed for professionals such as insurance agents, adjusters, engineers, and real estate agents. The webinars will cover topics including the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), state-based flood insurance programs, and the modernization of flood maps. The initiative comes in response to the increasing need for flood insurance in the state, highlighted by the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene and other storms. The sessions will feature experts from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety/Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Registration for the first two sessions, scheduled for May 28 and July 16, is already full, reflecting high interest in the program.
