CoSN Report Highlights Cybersecurity Concerns and AI Governance in Education
The Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) has released its annual U.S. State of EdTech report, highlighting cybersecurity and privacy as primary concerns for educational technology leaders. The report, based on responses from 607 K-12 leaders across 44 states, indicates a shift from rapid AI experimentation to a focus on managing risks and building trust. Cybersecurity has re-emerged as a top priority, with districts investing in monitoring, identity protection, and incident response. However, challenges remain, including insufficient budgets and staff training. The report also notes the normalization of AI, with 79% of districts establishing AI guidelines, reflecting a significant increase from the previous year.
