Lansing Hosts Free Memorial Day Events Celebrating Culture and Honoring Military
Lansing and Mid-Michigan are offering a variety of free events to celebrate Memorial Day 2026. The annual Cristo Rey Fiesta in Lansing will take place over the holiday weekend, celebrating Hispanic culture with live bands, cultural dance troupes, and authentic food vendors. A special ceremony to honor military members is scheduled for Sunday, May 24. Michigan's Adventure in Muskegon is providing free single-day admission to active-duty military personnel and veterans from May 22 to May 25. Additionally, the City of Lansing will host its official Memorial Day Ceremony on May 23 at the 'Little Arlington' memorial site, featuring guest speakers and music. Dansville, located southeast of Lansing, will hold a Memorial Freedom Festival with children's activities, a community parade, and local music. Pilot Travel Centers are offering free food and beverage deals to military members and their families throughout May.
