FDA Issues Class I Recall for Frozen Fettuccine Due to Listeria Contamination
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a Class I recall for bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine, a frozen pasta product. This is the highest level of recall, indicating a reasonable probability that consumption could lead to serious adverse health consequences or death. The recall, initiated by Gias Foods of New York, affects two specific lots of the 22-ounce yellow plastic packages with UPC 194346442706, marked with lot numbers L6079C or L6080C and an expiration date between September 19, 2027, and September 20, 2027. The contamination with Listeria monocytogenes was discovered through a routine sampling program conducted by the Washington State Department of Agriculture and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. A total of 1,174 cases of the Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine were withdrawn from shelves on September 24.
