Orleans Parish West Bank Under Boil Water Advisory After Main Damage
Residents on the west bank of Orleans Parish are under a boil water advisory after a contractor damaged a water main, causing water pressure to drop to unsafe levels. The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans issued the advisory early Saturday, advising residents to boil water for at least a minute before use. This is the second advisory in two weeks, following a similar incident on July 25. The advisory will remain until water samples are tested and cleared by the Louisiana Department of Health, a process that can take up to 24 hours.
