New Mexico Hazmat Incident: 3 Dead, 18 First Responders Hospitalized After Substance Exposure
In New Mexico, a hazardous materials incident has resulted in the deaths of three individuals and the hospitalization of 18 first responders. The incident occurred at a residence in Mountainair, east of Albuquerque, where state police discovered four unresponsive individuals. One of these individuals survived and is receiving medical treatment. The first responders, who were exposed to an unidentified substance, experienced symptoms such as nausea and dizziness. They were subsequently transported to a hospital for monitoring, with two in serious condition. Hazmat teams are actively working to identify the substance, which is believed not to be airborne, thus posing no broader public threat.
