U.S. Customs and Border Protection Actively Recruiting Border Patrol Agents with Incentives
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the largest federal law enforcement agency within the Department of Homeland Security, is actively recruiting to fill full-time, entry-level, and mid-level career positions for Border Patrol Agents (BPAs). CBP is offering significant recruitment and retention incentives to attract qualified candidates. These incentives include up to a $20,000 recruitment bonus, with the first $10,000 paid upon successful completion of the academy and the remaining $10,000 for accepting a prioritized location. Additionally, newly appointed BPAs may qualify for up to $30,000 in retention incentives distributed over three years. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, have primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years, and be referred for selection before their 40th birthday, though exceptions apply for those with prior federal law enforcement or military service.
