Vietnam Emerges as Key Destination for US Semiconductor Companies Amid Global Supply Chain Shifts
Vietnam has become an attractive destination for leading US semiconductor companies, driven by competitive labor costs, political stability, and a strategic geographic location. The country's participation in the International Technology Security and Innovation (ITSI) program under the 2022 CHIPS and Science Act supports the US goal of diversifying and strengthening semiconductor supply chains. Vietnam's established semiconductor and electronics industry, along with major US companies like Intel and Qualcomm setting up operations, positions it well to contribute to global supply chain resilience. The Vietnamese government has shown strong commitment to developing the semiconductor sector, aiming to train engineers, attract foreign investment, and build domestic capabilities.
