Senphonix Receives NIH Grant to Advance SleeveSense Continuous Vitals Monitoring Platform
Senphonix, Inc., a medical technology startup, has been awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I grant from the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), specifically through its National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). This grant will support the advancement of SleeveSense, a wearable device designed for continuous, long-term monitoring of patients' vital signs. The NIH funding will primarily focus on testing the platform's software stack in a clinical environment, scaling its cloud and database infrastructure, and enhancing cybersecurity to achieve SOC 2 Type II readiness. This award follows a previous National Science Foundation (NSF) STTR Phase I award, which funded the development of the wearable's wireless hardware and software platform. Together, these grants are moving SleeveSense from a prototype phase towards clinical readiness, aiming to address the inefficiencies and gaps in traditional, intermittent vital sign monitoring in healthcare settings.
