Cumberland County Approves Body Camera Program with State Funding Support
Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, has approved a capital project to equip the prison and sheriff's office with body cameras and related software. The project, costing $325,000 over five years, is set to be implemented by fall. The county commissioners accepted $107,000 in state funding from the Local Share Account Fund, provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, to purchase the body camera equipment. Additional funding will come from the prison's canteen fund and the county's general fund budget. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance security and accountability within the county's law enforcement agencies.
