Federal Investigation Launched After 500 Blank Ballots Found Near Renton Dumpster
Federal authorities have initiated an investigation after approximately 500 blank ballots were discovered near a dumpster in Renton, Washington. The ballots, spanning multiple election cycles from 2022 to 2025, were found by a local resident and subsequently publicized by Washington State Republican Party Chairman and state Rep. Jim Walsh. The ballots, which were intended for voters but never retrieved, have raised concerns about the security of the vote-by-mail system. King County Elections, along with federal partners such as the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the FBI, are involved in the investigation. Election officials have emphasized that the ballots were not returned or counted, and safeguards are in place to prevent misuse.
