Zoom Security Flaw Exposed, Prompting Urgent Patches
Researchers have disclosed a significant security vulnerability in Zoom's video conferencing platform that could have allowed attackers to take over devices during screen-sharing sessions. The flaw, discovered using AI models, affected all operating systems supported by Zoom, including Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. The vulnerability was found in the protocol used for real-time annotation during screen sharing, which could have been exploited without the victim's knowledge. Zoom has since issued server and client-side patches to address the issue. The discovery underscores the growing capabilities of AI in identifying software vulnerabilities and the potential risks associated with widely used communication platforms.
