Lightning Strike Claims Lives of Mother and Daughter in Florida
A tragic lightning strike in Margate, Florida, claimed the lives of a 31-year-old mother, Kenya Glasgow, and her 2-year-old daughter, Kennedi, on Sunday, August 23, 2026. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. ET as the family was attempting to reach shelter at a relative's home during a thunderstorm. According to the Margate Police Department, the victims were found lying on a sidewalk and were transported to a hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. The father, Kameron Glasgow, was nearby and experienced an aftershock from the lightning but survived. The couple’s other daughter, Kennedi’s twin sister Kensli, was unharmed as she remained in the vehicle during the incident.
