Thermos Recalls 8 Million Jars and Bottles Due to Safety Hazard
Thermos has announced a recall of over 8 million food jars and bottles following reports of stoppers forcefully ejecting and causing injuries, including permanent vision loss for three individuals. The recall affects approximately 5.8 million Stainless King Food Jars and 2.3 million Sportsman Food & Beverage Bottles. These products, sold between March 2008 and July 2024 at major retailers like Target, Walmart, and Amazon, lack a pressure-relief mechanism, which can lead to pressure build-up and the subsequent ejection of the stopper. Consumers are advised to stop using the affected products immediately and contact Thermos for a replacement.
