Rep. Marcy Kaptur Hospitalized After Hit-and-Run Incident in Toledo
Rep. Marcy Kaptur, the longest-serving female member of the U.S. House of Representatives, was hospitalized following a hit-and-run accident in Toledo, Ohio. The incident occurred on August 2, 2026, as Kaptur was en route to a church service. The vehicle she was in was struck by another car, whose driver fled the scene. Kaptur, along with her driver, Kegan Zimmerman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The Toledo Police Department is investigating the incident but has not yet identified the driver responsible.
