Orland Park Hosts Inaugural Red, White and Blue Festival with Olympic Gold Medalist as Grand Marshal
Orland Park, Illinois, kicked off its summer events with the inaugural Red, White and Blue BBQ Fest, featuring Olympic gold medalist Kendall Coyne Schofield as the grand marshal. The festival, held to honor Memorial Day and celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States, included a parade that started on Jillian Road and Park Station Boulevard and concluded at Centennial Park West. Hundreds of attendees lined the parade route, cheering and waving flags. Coyne Schofield, a native of the area and a prominent figure in women's hockey, expressed her honor at being chosen as the grand marshal. The event also featured an amateur rib cookoff, children's activities, live music, and a fireworks display. The festival is part of a series of summer activities planned by the village, including Memorial Day ceremonies and Independence Day celebrations.
