Harvey City Hall Unveils 'Wall of Therapy' Mural Celebrating Diversity and Transformation
The city of Harvey has unveiled a new mural titled 'Wall of Therapy' on the north wall of City Hall. This project, spearheaded by local artists Amoz and Malachi Wright of Golden Street, celebrates the city's diversity, history, and a shared vision for its future. The mural, funded by a Creative Placemaking grant from the Cook County Arts Initiative, was completed despite significant logistical challenges, including extreme heat, tornadoes, torrential rain, and a tight two-month deadline. The artists, including the Wright brothers, their family, and numerous community members, worked to create a visual narrative that incorporates Harvey's Black, Latino, and Indian cultures, interfaith living, and musical traditions.
