Uttar Pradesh Tourism Launches Citizen-Centric Initiatives for World Heritage Day
Uttar Pradesh Tourism has introduced innovative public participation campaigns to celebrate World Heritage Day, aiming to engage citizens in preserving and promoting the state's rich cultural heritage. The initiatives, titled 'Heritage through My Lens' and 'Share Your Personal Treasure,' encourage residents to document and share their cultural narratives, transforming them from passive observers into active contributors. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to connect people, especially the youth, with their cultural roots and to highlight lesser-known traditions and sites. The state, home to iconic landmarks like the Taj Mahal, is also recognized for its intangible cultural heritage, such as the Kumbh Mela and Diwali, which have been inscribed on UNESCO's lists.
