Revolution Medicines' Daraxonrasib Shows Promising Results in Pancreatic Cancer Treatment
Revolution Medicines has announced significant results from its RASolute 302 trial, which tested the pan-RAS(on) inhibitor daraxonrasib in patients with metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The trial demonstrated that daraxonrasib doubled the overall survival rate compared to standard chemotherapy, with patients experiencing a median overall survival of 13.2 months versus 6.7 months. The study, led by Brian Wolpin of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, highlights the potential of daraxonrasib as a second-line treatment for PDAC, a cancer type that is notoriously difficult to treat due to its aggressive nature and common KRAS oncogene mutations. The trial results, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, also showed that daraxonrasib improved progression-free survival and had manageable side effects, leading to fewer treatment discontinuations compared to chemotherapy.
