Teacher Confidence in AI Grows, But Call for More Training to Prepare Students
A new study by Pearson reveals that UK teachers are increasingly confident in using AI in education, with a significant rise in the belief that AI positively impacts schools. The number of teachers confident in teaching AI has increased from 9% in 2025 to 16% in 2026. Despite this optimism, there is a notable gap in formal training, leaving educators feeling unprepared to fully support students in utilizing AI. The study highlights that while AI usage is growing, with only 12% of teachers not using it compared to 20% last year, there is a strong call for more professional development to bridge the skills gap.
