Indiana Attorney General's Office Highlights Unclaimed Property for Hoosiers
The Indiana Attorney General's Office is drawing attention to the significant amount of unclaimed property owed to residents of Indiana, including notable figures such as NBA legend Reggie Miller and former Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. Unclaimed property includes a wide range of assets such as wages, refunds, insurance proceeds, and dormant bank accounts. Indiana law mandates that businesses report and remit unclaimed property to the Attorney General's Office, which then makes these funds available for residents to claim. In 2025, Indiana returned a record $88 million in unclaimed property to its residents. So far in 2026, over $47 million has been returned, with eight months remaining in the year. The National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators estimates that one in seven Americans has unclaimed property waiting for them.
