Florida A University Receives $10 Million Department of Defense Grant for Biomanufacturing Research
Florida A&M University (FAMU) has been awarded a $10 million grant from the Department of Defense (DoD) to advance biomanufacturing technologies. This funding, provided through the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Army Research Laboratory, is specifically aimed at developing solutions to protect military service members from extreme physical strain and environmental hazards. The project, titled 'Advancing Warfighter Functioning & Health Through Biomanufacturing,' will focus on engineering biological systems to monitor health data, accelerate muscle recovery, and prevent severe heat illness.
