Rep. Jared Moskowitz Purchases SpaceX Stock Despite Past Criticism of Elon Musk
Rep. Jared Moskowitz, a Democrat from Florida, has disclosed purchasing SpaceX stock on June 12, the day of the company's initial public offering (IPO). The transaction was valued between $1,000 and $15,000. This purchase is notable given Moskowitz's previous criticism of Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX. In 2023, Moskowitz criticized Musk's management of the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, accusing it of becoming a 'hate-filled playground for Nazis and antisemites' under Musk's ownership. Despite this, Moskowitz has joined other members of Congress in buying shares of SpaceX, a company with significant federal contracts. Moskowitz's financial activities also include buying shares in companies like Applied Materials, HCA Healthcare, Home Depot, Meta Platforms, Monster Beverage, and Microsoft, while selling shares of S&P Global.
