Ancient Aspendos Tomb May Hold Remains of Greek Wrestler

The tomb, dating back to the Classical period of Aspendos, was found with coins depicting wrestlers, suggesting a connection to the sport. Aspendos, a Greco-Roman city, was known for its large gymnasium and stadium, where wrestling was a popular activity. The discovery adds to the historical understanding of Aspendos as a center for athletic competition and cultural significance in ancient times.
