Prince George RCMP Arrest Woman for Deliberate Fires in Downtown Area
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Prince George have arrested Jessie Lynn Giroux, a 38-year-old woman known to law enforcement, following a series of deliberate fires set in the downtown area. The incidents occurred early Friday morning, with reports indicating that Giroux ignited multiple fires along Victoria Street. The police responded shortly after midnight and managed to apprehend the suspect on 20th Avenue after a brief foot chase. The fires, which were quickly extinguished by officers and fire rescue services, led to charges against Giroux for arson, causing property damage, and obstructing a police officer. She remains in custody pending her next court appearance. The RCMP has announced plans to increase patrols in the downtown area to ensure public safety as warmer weather encourages more outdoor activity.
