SAISD Foundation Launches Free School Supply Store for Educators in San Antonio

The SAISD Foundation has opened a free school supply store for San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) PK-12 educators. This initiative, launched on World Teacher Day, October 5, is housed at the Young Men's Leadership Academy. The store provides new and gently used classroom supplies at no cost to teachers, aiming to bridge the gap in resources not covered by grants or school budgets. Matthew San Martin, a digital marketing specialist with the SAISD Foundation, noted that teachers often spend their own money on supplies. The inventory includes items like markers, index cards, post-it notes, backpacks, insulated cups, highlighters, calculators, and recorders. The foundation also accepts donations of convention and meeting materials for reuse.
