Baltimore City has intensified its crackdown on dirt bikes, leading to protests from local riders who are requesting a meeting with the mayor and police commissioner. The riders, who marched from City Hall to police headquarters, argue that dirt biking is a cultural staple in Baltimore and are seeking a middle ground that allows for regulated riding spaces. The police have seized 103 dirt bikes and ATVs this year, citing safety concerns and recent incidents, including a fatal collision and an officer injury. The Baltimore Police Department has expressed willingness to engage in discussions, although no formal meeting requests have been made.
