Houston Faces Heat and Humidity as Storm Chances Rise Midweek
Houston is starting June with high temperatures and oppressive humidity, as daytime highs climb into the 90s°F (32-37°C) and heat index values exceed 100°F (38°C). According to the Houston Chronicle, scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop later in the week, potentially providing some relief from the heat. Monday will see isolated showers, particularly near and south of Interstate 10, driven by the sea breeze. However, most areas are likely to remain dry. By Tuesday, rain chances will increase as upper-level disturbances move across Southeast Texas, creating conditions for more widespread showers and thunderstorms. This unsettled weather pattern is expected to persist through the workweek, with additional storms likely on Wednesday and beyond.
