Powerful Medical's AI Model for Heart Attack Detection Receives FDA Approval
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted de novo authorization to Powerful Medical's "Queen of Hearts," an AI model designed for the early detection of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) through electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis. This AI model aims to identify suspected ACS patients, including those with heart attacks and conditions like unstable angina, who could benefit from early cardiology consultation and cardiac catheterization. According to Powerful Medical, standard ECG interpretation often misses a significant number of acute heart attacks, particularly STEMI equivalents, leading to delayed treatment. The "Queen of Hearts" model has demonstrated approximately twofold higher sensitivity compared to standard care, with up to fivefold fewer false positives and faster treatment times, based on over 20 peer-reviewed studies involving more than 40,000 patients.
