Rochester Institute of Technology Launches Bachelor's Degree in Artificial Intelligence
The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in New York has announced the launch of a new bachelor's degree program in artificial intelligence (AI) starting this fall. This program aims to equip students with the skills to transform data and algorithms into practical applications. The curriculum includes courses on machine learning, natural language processing, and analytics, with a focus on connecting human needs with technical innovation. Additionally, RIT will offer a six-course AI minor. The program is designed to meet the growing demand for AI expertise, as evidenced by the increase in AI job postings from 20,600 in 2010 to over 1 million by 2025. RIT has a history of embracing new technologies, having offered AI courses since 1986 and a master's degree in AI since 2023.
