Lyon County Sheriff's Office Identifies Human Remains Found in 2025 as Missing Fernley Resident
The Lyon County Sheriff's Office has identified human remains discovered in January 2025 in Fernley, Nevada, as those of Ronald John Littley, a resident who had been missing since September 2022. The remains were found in a wooded area near Farm District Road and U.S. Highway 50A. Initial attempts to identify the remains using traditional methods were unsuccessful. However, through a collaborative effort involving the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner's Office, Wolf Pack DNA, and Bode Technology, investigators utilized genetic genealogy to confirm Littley's identity. This breakthrough provides closure to Littley's family after years of uncertainty.
