Austin Police Arrest Three Youths in Connection with Random Shootings Injuring Four
In Austin, Texas, three young individuals have been arrested following a series of random shootings over the weekend that resulted in four people being injured. According to Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis, the suspects, including two boys aged 15 and 17, were involved in at least ten shootings across the city. The incidents occurred from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning, with the suspects driving around in stolen vehicles and firing at various targets, including fire stations, apartment buildings, and houses. The firearm used in the shootings was reportedly stolen by the 15-year-old suspect, while the 17-year-old was already wanted for a separate firearm theft. The city had issued a shelter-in-place order for a large part of southern Austin during the search for the suspects, which was lifted after two of them were apprehended. A third suspect was later detained at a gas station in Manor, northeast of Austin.
