A slow-moving storm system, fuelled by remnants of Hurricane Polo and Gulf of Mexico moisture, has caused significant flight disruptions across Texas and the broader United States. On 2 October 2026, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued ground stops at five major airports, including Dallas-Fort Worth International (DFW), which experienced 999 delays and 321 cancellations. In total, 4,115 flights were delayed and 433 were cancelled nationwide.
