Xcel Energy Subsidiary Restores Power to 1,300 Customers After Texas Panhandle Storm
Southwestern Public Service, a subsidiary of Xcel Energy, successfully restored power to approximately 1,300 customers in the Texas Panhandle after a severe storm on Tuesday night. The storm brought high winds that caused damage to trees, power lines, and utility poles, leading to widespread outages. Xcel Energy crews were dispatched to inspect substations and address reported outages. Brad Baldridge, interim president of Southwestern Public Service, confirmed that service was restored once it was deemed safe for crews to commence work in the affected areas. The most significant damage reported was from a tree in the Wolflin area, which crews were able to remove, restoring power to customers within an hour to an hour and a half. Xcel Energy encourages customers to report outages via their mobile app rather than calling 911.
