Vehicle Crash at Multnomah Athletic Club Reveals Explosive Device, Results in Fatality
A vehicle crashed into the Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland, Oregon, early Saturday morning, resulting in a fire and the death of one individual found inside the vehicle. Upon extinguishing the flames, firefighters discovered evidence of an explosive device within the vehicle. The Portland Police Bureau's Explosive Disposal Unit was called to the scene to investigate further. The incident led to the closure of several streets around the club, and the Multnomah Athletic Club announced its temporary closure, prioritizing the safety of its members and staff. This event follows a similar, unrelated crash near the club on April 8, where a vehicle sideswiped another before crashing into a planter box, injuring a security guard.
