President Trump's Approval Rating Underwater in 47 States, Economist Estimates Show
According to recent estimates from The Economist, utilizing polling data from YouGov, President Trump's approval rating is underwater in 47 states and the District of Columbia. Disapproval exceeds approval in these regions, with the lowest net approval (-83) recorded in the District of Columbia, followed by Vermont and Maryland (-50), Hawaii (-48), Washington (-42), and Illinois (-41). Conversely, President Trump maintains a positive net approval in only three states: Wyoming (+14), Idaho (+9), and West Virginia (+6). The estimates indicate that dissatisfaction has spread even into battleground states he carried in 2024, such as Arizona (-23), Georgia (-31), Michigan (-27), Nevada (-27), Pennsylvania (-26), and Wisconsin (-28). These figures are derived from statistical modeling and should be considered estimates rather than exact measurements.
