Governor Healey and MIT President Kornbluth Launch MIT Future Fest to Showcase Innovation
Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey and MIT President Sally Kornbluth officially launched MIT Future Fest, a five-day event designed to open MIT's doors to the world and highlight its research, teaching, thinking, and discovery. The festival, which began on a Wednesday afternoon, features over 100 speakers across more than 50 events, including talks from leading MIT scholars, panel discussions, open labs, exhibitions, performances, and screenings. Both Healey and Kornbluth emphasized the importance of curiosity and innovation during their introductory remarks. Governor Healey noted that "MIT and Massachusetts are known around the world as leaders in innovation," and that Future Fest is an opportunity to celebrate this, connect with others, and imagine future advancements in fields such as life sciences, biotech, robotics, advanced manufacturing, energy, climate technology, and quantum computing.
