King Charles III Opens Longest Coastal Path in the World
King Charles III has officially opened the King Charles III England Coast Path, the longest managed coastal walking path globally, spanning 2,689 miles. The path, which took over 18 years to develop, offers breathtaking views of seaside cliffs and the Atlantic Ocean. Despite some sections remaining closed due to landowner objections, the path is a significant achievement in promoting access to natural landscapes. The project involved collaboration between Natural England and numerous local authorities. The path is designed to be accessible, with improvements for those with reduced mobility, and features a rollback system to adapt to coastal erosion.
