Guinea, GAC, and EGA Reach Settlement Over Bauxite Supply Disputes
The Republic of Guinea, represented by its Minister of Mines and Geology Bouna Sylla, has reached an amicable settlement with Guinea Alumina Corporation (GAC) and Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) to resolve disputes related to the cessation of GAC's activities in Guinea and the interruption of Guinean bauxite supplies to EGA. The agreement, negotiated under the auspices of the President of the Paris Bar Association, includes the payment of a lump sum by Guinea to GAC in exchange for the transfer of GAC's assets to Nimba Mining Company for the Sangarédi bauxite project. Additionally, the agreement renews bauxite supply agreements between Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée (CBG) and EGA under mutually beneficial terms.
