Greek Police Arrest Palestinian Man for Alleged Terrorist Plot and Hamas Ties
Greek authorities have arrested a 37-year-old Palestinian man on the island of Crete, suspecting him of planning terrorist attacks and having affiliations with the militant group Hamas. The arrest was part of a broader investigation that also involves four Palestinian men detained in Cyprus on similar charges. The suspect, who has been residing in Crete for the past year, is accused of ordering chemical agents online that could potentially be used to manufacture explosives. During searches conducted in Crete and Athens, police seized mobile phones, a laptop, external hard drives, and bank cards. The suspect is also under investigation for traveling abroad to receive training, allegedly in Malaysia, on making explosives using commercially available chemicals. This arrest is linked to the detention of the four Palestinians in Cyprus, who were found with materials that could be used to create explosives.
