YouTuber Alleges Police Harassment, Attempts Self-Harm on Facebook Live
A YouTuber named Salman Khan attempted to take his own life during a Facebook Live session, claiming harassment by police officials in Bidar district, Karnataka. Khan, who runs the YouTube channel 'Media in Truth', accused Superintendent of Police Pradeep Gunti and other senior officials of targeting him due to his journalistic work. He alleged that the harassment intensified after he posted videos critical of the police department. Khan claimed he was summoned under false pretenses to the SP's office, where he was allegedly assaulted and pressured to delete videos and shut down his channel. During the live broadcast, Khan made an emotional appeal to Indian leaders and consumed several tablets on camera. He is currently receiving treatment at Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences, with his condition reported as critical.
