ReNew Energy to Invest INR 4,200 Crore in Solar Manufacturing in Andhra Pradesh
ReNew Energy Global Plc has announced plans to invest INR 4,200 crore in a new solar ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh, India. The facility, located in Anakapalli district near Visakhapatnam, is expected to become operational within 24 months. This investment is part of ReNew's broader commitment of INR 82,000 crore to the state, which includes a 2.8 GW wind and solar project and a 2 GWh battery energy storage system. The new factory aims to localize key components of the solar supply chain, reduce reliance on imports, and support India's clean energy transition. It is expected to create over 2,100 jobs and enhance ReNew's presence across the solar value chain.
