Delta Power Energy's Chain Valley Colliery Project Extended by Two Years
The Independent Planning Commission of New South Wales has approved Delta Power & Energy's Chain Valley Colliery Consolidation Project, extending the mine's lifespan by two years to December 31, 2029. This extension allows for the extraction of up to 2.8 million tonnes of coal per annum, with existing development consents for Chain Valley and Mannering Collieries being combined. Although the production capacity will be 12.5% lower than the currently approved 3.2 million tonnes, the extended mine life will eventually increase the approved maximum production by up to 5.6 million tonnes. The project will utilize existing infrastructure and a workforce of 330 full-time employees, with minor upgrades planned for water management and temporary stockpile areas.
