Carolina Hurricanes Foundation Donates $50K to Combat Child Hunger
The Carolina Hurricanes Foundation has announced a $50,000 grant to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina's Stop Summer Hunger initiative. This donation is set to provide 150,000 meals to children during the summer months when school meal programs are unavailable. The grant is part of the foundation's playoff initiative, which has seen donations to various nonprofits during each round of the 2026 NHL playoffs, totaling $200,000. The initiative aims to address the food insecurity faced by over 168,000 school-age children in the region, exacerbated by recent economic challenges.
