Grand Island Police Seek Public Assistance After Reckless Driving Incidents Involving Matte Black Dodge Charger
The Grand Island Police Department (GIPD) is actively seeking information regarding a vehicle involved in two separate reckless driving incidents on a recent Saturday. The first event occurred around 1 a.m. when an officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop near First and Eddy. The vehicle was observed speeding and disregarding a stop sign, but the pursuit was discontinued due to safety concerns. Later that same day, around 10:30 p.m., the vehicle was again spotted near Third and Madison. Police reported that the driver accelerated to an estimated 100 mph on Third Street, between Broadwell and Eddy, and was seen passing other vehicles in the opposing lane. The vehicle is described as a flat, matte black Dodge Charger, notably lacking license plates or in-transit tags. A case has been opened for multiple violations, including willful reckless driving, stop sign violation, traffic signal violation, speeding, and flight to avoid arrest.
