Milwaukee Building Damaged by Large Fire, Investigation Underway
A significant fire caused extensive damage to a two-story building located near 40th Street and North Avenue in Milwaukee early Monday morning. Milwaukee Fire Department crews responded shortly after 4 a.m. to find heavy flames on both the first and second floors, with fire also extending through the roof. Due to the intensity of the blaze, firefighters initially adopted a defensive strategy, deploying hoses from outside the structure. Once the primary fire was suppressed, crews entered the building to extinguish remaining hot spots and conduct searches. No occupants were found inside, and no injuries have been reported. The building reportedly houses businesses on its first floor, including a bar. The Milwaukee Fire Department's Fire Investigation Unit has initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
