Fatal UTV Rollover Crash in Lafayette County, Wisconsin Claims One Life, Injures Three
One person has died and three others were injured in a UTV rollover crash that occurred in Wayne Township, Lafayette County, Wisconsin. The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident took place around 8:15 p.m. on Monday on Fox Valley Road. A 22-year-old woman from Dubuque was driving westbound when she lost control of the UTV, causing it to roll over. Both the driver and a 23-year-old passenger were ejected from the vehicle. The 23-year-old passenger, identified as Chloe Scholtes from Bellevue, Iowa, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by MedFlight helicopter to a hospital, where she later died on Tuesday morning. The 22-year-old driver and two boys, who were not wearing helmets, were taken by ambulance to SSM Health Monroe Hospital for their injuries. The UTV sustained major damage and was towed from the scene. The Lafayette County Coroner’s Office, Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources are investigating the crash.
