Argonne National Laboratory Seeks Industry Input for AI Supercomputing Center Development
Argonne National Laboratory is actively seeking ideas from industry, academia, and private sector entities to develop a large-scale supercomputing center focused on artificial intelligence. This initiative is part of the Energy Department's Genesis mission, which aims to spur innovation in AI by leveraging federal datasets and resources. The proposed National Genesis Mission Supercomputing Center of Innovation will be located in Lemont, Illinois. Argonne is looking for contributions in infrastructure, equipment, software, and operational capabilities, with a significant emphasis on private sector investment to fund the project. The lab estimates a need for at least $6 billion in private investment for the initial phase of construction and deployment.
